Updates on HR-1 and Medicaid Changes in Oregon

October 2026 Update:

ODHS has shared new information about Work Requirements and other Medicaid changes for people with disabilities.

The Oregon Department of Human Services recently released three documents with new information about Medicaid coverage for people with disabilities.

We continue to believe a very small number of people we serve at Independence Northwest will be affected. As we have shared before, we will be reaching out individually to any customers who might need to take action.

We have included the three releases on this page for your review. You can download the originals here:

  • “I get help with daily activities. Do the new OHP work or activity rules apply to me?” Download
  • “I have a disability. Do the new OHP rules apply to me?” Download
  • “I have Medicare and OHP. Do the new OHP work or activity rules apply to me?” Download

INW's Next Steps

If we believe you may be affected by the new Work Requirements, we’re going to contact you and talk to you about your options for keeping your Medicaid services.
